Who Owns the Source Code When You Hire an App Studio?
This question separates a studio from a vendor who vanishes. If source and store accounts are not written down, you are renting a hostage, not a product.
What we hand over
The app repository, handover notes, and store listings. Google Play and Apple Developer accounts in your name. For a company profile: domain and hosting in your name, not a vendor subdomain.
What does not transfer
Open-source packages and third-party SDKs keep their original licenses. That is normal. What is not normal is a vendor holding admin access “so you renew maintenance”.
How it goes in the contract
Handover before final payment or with a written checklist at the same time. A 50% deposit still applies. If a vendor will not write this, it is the same signal as a Rp1m quote with no asset list.
